DFI has begun rulemaking on the EARA bonding requirements.

Check Cashers and Sellers Act Rulemaking (WAC 208-630) - Implementing Laws Of 2009

DFI has begun rulemaking to implement chapters 13 and 510, Laws of 2009 (SB 5164 and ESHB 1709) . The rules would implement the amendments to the Act and amend the rules generally for clarity and consistency.

Comment On Proposed Rules

DFI continues to post drafts of the proposed rules implementing the amendments to the payday lending provision of the Check Cashers & Sellers Act. These rules include the rules necessary to implement the payday lending database, as well as rules to implement the collection practices provisions of the law.

Please review the rules and provide your comments to Elizabeth Hampton at ehampton@dfi.wa.gov by November 13, 2009.


Consumer Loan Act Rulemaking (WAC 208-620) - Implementing Laws Of 2009

DFI has begun rulemaking to implement chapters 120 and 149, Laws of 2009, and SSB 5468 as passed by the legislature. The rules would implement those amendments to the Act necessary to comply with the federal SAFE Act, implement other amendments to the Act and amend the rules generally for clarity and consistency.

DFI has begun rulemaking to implement SHB 1749 as passed by the legislature. The rules would implement those amendments to the Act necessary to comply with the federal SAFE Act and would otherwise amend the rules generally for clarity and consistency.
