The Washington State Legislature has not yet approved state operating and capital budgets for the 2017-19 biennium, which begins July 1. If no state budgets are enacted before July 1, DFI will continue to be open for business as DFI operates from a dedicated non-appropriated funding source which is not dependent on passage of a budget.

Virgin Financial - Advance Fee Loan Scam

The Washington State Department of Financial Institutions (DFI) received a report indicating a consumer attempted to obtain an online loan from Virgin Financial. The consumer wired money which was said to represent an insurance fee; however, once the money was wired no loan was provided.

The address associated with this company is: 307 Huron Street, Grayling, Michigan, 47389, and the telephone numbers: 877-558-5251 / 800-214-9082 (fax).

The company is not licensed by the Washington State of Department of Financial Institutions, the Washington State Department of Licensing, Washington State Department of Revenue, or the Washington State Secretary of State.
