Invest Wise Washington Campaign
To help Washington consumers protect themselves from investment frauds and scams, the Washington State Department of Financial Institutions (DFI) teamed up with AARP and the Investor Protection Trust to launch a statewide "Invest Wise Washington" campaign.

Investment Education Seminars
As part of the campaign, the public was invited to attend free half-day seminars in Spokane, Kennewick, Lynnwood and Vancouver.
Experts in wise and safe investing helped consumers learn how to better prepare for their financial futures, while avoiding some of the most common investment scams.
Consumers learned about the top ten questions they need to ask before putting money down on any investment. They also learned how to pinpoint the tricks and tactics used by crooks and scam artists.
Each attendee received a free Invest Wise booklet, educational DVD and informational brochures. Lunch was also provided.
Invest Wise Washington Toolkit
AARP and DFI offered a free Invest Wise Washington toolkit. This kit included information and resources to help consumers make wise investment choices while defending against investment scams and schemes.
