ATM Alert: False Front Attached to ATM Machine

The Associated Press recently reported a new variation of “skimming” (gathering and storing information from the magnetic strips on the backs of debit or credit cards):

"BELLEVUE -- Police say a false front was attached to an A-T-M machine in Bellevue to steal account numbers from debit and credit cards.

It's the latest variation on a scam known as "skimming."

A Bellevue police spokesman, Michael Chiu (chew), says the evidence had been turned over to the Secret Service."
