How The Potential Scam Works
- Stonewater and Associates by using an internet based mortgage lending website claiming to be licensed in the State of Washington
- Borrowers are led to believe they will be receiving assistance in obtaining a residential mortgage loan
- In a typical advance fee scam, consumers are advised that they have been approved for a loan and must send a payment to Stonewater and Associates to assist in completing the loan
- Once consumers send the money no loan is ever made and borrowers have no way of making contact with Stonewater and Associates or Erika Giron.
