Money Savvy U - 6th, 7th & 8th Grade
DFI is recruiting 212 sixth, seventh and/or eighth grade classrooms across the state of Washington to teach the Money Savvy U financial literacy curriculum .
DFI is also offering free teacher training available via webcast that will be accessible to participating teachers 24/7 during the 2007/2008 school year.

More About Money Savvy U
Money Savvy U is the perfect complement to any economics, consumer education, business education or personal finance class. Designed to engage young teens in grades 6-10, the classroom presentation material generates interesting classroom discussions. Each of the five scripted lessons requires approximately 20 to 40 minutes of classroom time, including discussions.
Instructor materials consist of a scripted, animated PowerPoint presentation on CD-ROM.
Students learn to build sound money management habits by practicing with the Cash Cache Personal Finance Organizer.
6th, 7th, and/or 8th Grade Lesson Plan
Total teaching time required: 3 hrs. Pre-requisite: None.

What Is Being Asked Of Teachers?
- Register for the initiative
- Accept the free curriculum materials and view the webcast training video
- Administer a 10-question pre-instruction assessment test to the students
- Teach the curriculum during the 2007/2008 school year (3 hours of classroom time)
- Administer a 10-question post-instruction assessment test to the students
- Distribute an 8-question parent survey to the students' parents
- Return assessment tests and parent surveys to Money Savvy Generation
