Financial Regulators Gather To Learn About Reaching Underserved Communities
What: Northwest Regional Conference on Reaching the Unbanked
When: Tuesday, March 27 9:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
Where: Grand Hyatt, 721 Pine Street, Seattle
Tomorrow in Seattle, the Washington State Department of Financial Institutions is co-hosting a conference to discuss ways to bring unbanked families into the financial mainstream. The event is free and will be held at the downtown Hyatt. A capacity crowd (over 200 people) from throughout the NW registered to attend. The schedule includes a variety of key-note speakers and panels discussing best practices and sharing observations about reaching underserved communities. This is the third conference across the country initiated by the U.S. Department of Treasury’s Financial Literacy and Education Commission. Partners for the event in Seattle include:

Brad Williamson, Director of the Division of Banks will speak on behalf of DFI. The audience includes credit unions, banks, and a wide variety of community groups. The conference presentations will be filmed. DVDs and downloadable podcasts will be available on DFI’s website.
