Loan Originator Licensing - The Few RemainingArticles In This Issue Net Branches - DFI Issues A Reminder Continuing Education Providers Employee or Independent Contractor? License Testing > Loan Originator Licensing - Few Remaining Mortgage Advertising Enforcement Mortgage Rescue Scams Are Increasing Newsletter Home Roughly 750 of the over 15,000 individuals who have applied for loan originator licenses find themselves in license limbo. They have not received a license because there is an issue with their application. Typically the issue is with the applicant’s fingerprint cards. The prints did not copy properly, they had shallow prints, scars, a missing finger or some other aspect to their prints that caused the State Patrol and FBI to reject the card and ask for another. In many of these cases, although we notified the applicant of the need for additional prints, we have not received another set of fingerprint cards. Unless you have applied within the last 10 days, do not wait to follow up on any request from the licensing unit for new or additional information to support your application. Only loan originator loan applications with problems are outstanding. All other applications have been processed and a license issued or a denial or enforcement action begun. The licensing unit will begin to focus on license renewals next. |
