Back on July 30, 2012 Washington introduced NMLS as a new way to maintain your Check Casher or Check Casher with Small Loan Endorsement license. At that time transitioning was optional for these licensees. Starting in 2014 all companies who hold both a Check Casher/Small Loan Endorsement license must have an approved transition in NMLS by July 1, 2014. The remaining companies who hold just the Check Casher licensing must have an approved transition in NMLS by December 31, 2014.
