There have been two major changes in the Escrow Industry in the last few months.
First were the mandatory changes to the Escrow Agent fidelity policies. These changes were the result of recent defalcations which resulted in significant consumer harm. This caused DFI to scrutinize the fidelity bond language for compliance with chapter 18.44 RCW which resulted in additional endorsements and/or declarations being required by December 31, 2013.
The following table shows the number of companies that have submitted the changes and are now compliant, companies that need corrections to information that was submitted, and those companies that have not submitted anything.

The second major change was the updates to the rules for the Escrow Agent Registration Act (chapter 18.44 RCW) which became effective January 1, 2014. You can view the changes that were made on our rulemaking webpage.
