DCU Bulletin
Mandated Temporary Layoff Days
July 07, 2010
NO: B-10-03
The Department of Financial Institutions (DFI), including the Division of Credit Unions (DCU), will be closed for its first temporary layoff day on Monday, July 12, 2010.
Due to state budget reductions, the 2010 Legislation passed ESSB 6503 Closing State Agencies on Specified Dates. The number of closure days for an agency will depend on the amount of required savings in salary and benefit expenses.
On each of the temporary layoff days DCU employees (including examiners) will not be available for phone calls or emails. If a temporary layoff day is scheduled during an examination, examiners will not work the temporary layoff day and the examination will typically resume the next day. The Examiner-in-Charge will notify the CEO of any changes to the examination schedule.
Currently, the closure dates for the Department of Financial Institutions, including the Division of Credit Unions, are scheduled for:
- Monday, July 12
- Friday, August 6
- Tuesday, September 7
- Monday, October 11
- Monday, December 27
If for any reason there is a change in the DFI closure schedule you will be notified by additional bulletin(s) from the Division of Credit Unions.
If you have any questions regarding the temporary layoff days, please contact Linda Jekel at 360-902-8778 or Linda.Jekel@dfi.wa.gov.
